NaNoWriMo Prep Club – Tips from Authors & Writing Prompts #3

I sat down this week and Googled some of my favourite authors (as well as some I don’t like so much but feel I should still respect) to see if they had some writing tips. They mostly all say the same things, but it doesn’t hurt to have a constant reminder. And hearing (or reading) it from an author whose work you respect tends to make you listen to their advice a lot more.

So I thought I’d share some favourites of mine here. Feel free to add to the list!

NaNoWriMo Prep Club – Writing Prompts #1

crest_square-1902dc8c2829c4d58f4cd667a59f9259Welcome to the NaNoWriMo Prep Club, where I pimp out my blog for the entirety of October to help myself and others prepare for participation in NaNoWriMo. There’s a tough November month ahead of us; writing a 50,000 word novel in 30 days is not an easy task, so I wanted to prepare myself as much as possible beforehand. I hope I can help others do the same.

Throughout October I’ll be posting useful tips about NaNoWriMo or novelling in general. Not just tips from me, but tips from all over the interwebs because I’ll admit that I don’t know everything.

I’ll also be posting writing prompts for anyone who wants to practice. I’ll post three in each article, and the idea is to pick one that inspires you and write a short story in a day. You can chose your own word count goal; I will be going for a minimum 1,500 words per story. Feel free to share your short stories as well!
